Although this pub is located in the parish of Tunstall it is more often referred to as being in Snape (which is its postal address) and stands in front of the famous maltings.
Good quality seasonal food, using local produce wherever possible and a range of draught ales and lagers, soft drinks and a good wine list.
Small outdoor seating area in front of building. The split level bar has been considerably extended in recent years to cope with an increased demand for food. There is a toilet for disabled customers.
Historic Interest
The 1904 Woodbridge licensing records show that the Plough & Sail's license was issued in 1813. Also listed at Snape bridge (in 1900-1922) & Dunningworth.
