Famous grade-II listed former Isleworth Brewery riverside pub in 'old' Isleworth, with an unusual name and interesting history. It dates back to Tudor times, although it was rebuilt during the first half of the eighteenth century. The first recorded license dates back to 1731 and it was originally kept open all night for the benefit of travellers on the Thames. The interior is classic 'traditional', although opened out, with an upstairs Riverview Room. Outside is a large patio with many tables, and some also on the riverbank. The pub received a major refurbishment in 2026. It is well worth the short walk from the nearest bus stop (H37 - the 117 & 267 stop a little further away). Note road access is only currently available via Park Road.

Pub Quiz every Sunday 7.30 to 10pm.

The upstairs function room has now been opened out as an extra seating/eating area and is open to all. Breakfast also served Friday and Saturday from 9am. Food is popular and served daily. Greene King house beer - The London Apprentice Pale Ale at 4% ABV. Usually some music Fri. eves, board games Wed, poker Thu, and Sun is quiz night.

Historic Interest

The London Apprentice pub dates as far back as 1731 and overlooking the Isleworth Stairs that were established during the reign of Henry VIII. It was there that Lady Jane Grey boarded the Royal Barge to accept the throne as Queen of England, only to be imprisoned in the tower nine days later.
