This 17th-century free house in the Duddon Valley, Wordsworth's favourite area, is an oasis for fell walkers and travellers passing through this secluded and peaceful valley. Note the unique banded slate floor in the bar. Good food is served all day. The spacious beer garden has excellent views towards the South Lakeland Fells. Accommodation is one bed and breakfast. There are two self-catering flats next door as additional accommodation.
