Harrogate’s first micropub opened 2016 as The Little Ale House, however enlarged in 2025 by extension into an adjoining building. The original bar counter remains at the back of the room to the left-hand side with five handpumps dispensing a varied selection of cask ales, always including a dark. As with many micropubs, the beers are kept cool in a glass cabinet to one side. There are boxed ciders from a changing list of producers, occasionally including a real cider such as Hogan's or Saxby's. KeyKeg beer, whiskies and small batch gins are also available. Seating is at tables with a mix of chairs and there are stools around a cask near the bar. Plain white walls are enlivened with pictures which are sometimes for sale, and there are some drink related objects on shelves and bunches of hops over the exposed brick fireplace. There is outside seating at the front while the yard at the rear has bench seating, with service from a window in summer.

This pub is on a steep hill and there are a number of steps up into the building. Level access in the left-hand side of the pub but a few steps down to the side room to the right, and steep steps to the cellar room. No accessible toilet.
