Early 17C chequer building, single room bar and games room. Now a community pub owned by villagers and other investors. Large bar area with restaurant seating at one end. A second, small area has a darts board and a serving hatch to the bar.

A community group (Chitterne Community Benefit Society) campaigned to save this pub. In May 2024 they launched a community share scheme. At the end of 2024 the group completed the purchase, and are now refurbishing the pub and recruiting a tenant. The refurbishment was completed in April 2025, and recruiting tenants was finalised. The pub reopened on the 18 June 2025.
