Formerly the Joiner's Arms, an Eldridge Pope (Huntsmans) pub in the then vibrant St Mary Street, it has long been a purely music venue since the public bar closed sometime in the 1980s or 1990s. The back room (once the lounge bar) has hosted music gigs since 1968 and many well known bands have cut their teeth there.
