The following description dates from its Flying Dutchman days:

Fairly large, smart looking hotel bar which reopened as the Flying Dutchman 12th March 2015. The main bar has plenty of plush seating and, in keeping with its sports bar style, a large TV and DJ desk at one end. The other bar, which can double as a function room, has two pool tables and table football. Normally no food but the pub is popular with football fans and on match days there should be some.

The bar and hotel had a refurbishment in mid 2017; the description and many other details will be out of date, and another complete gutting and refit is taking place 2021/2022.
