One of the oldest buildings in the village, this popular community pub is situated on The Pennine Way and features a large comfortable main bar. Four beers are always available on hand pulls. The beer garden is reached via a door from the bar. Walkers are very welcome. As of Spring 2022 the pub was also selling soap handmade in the village.

Upstairs, and recently renovated, is the main restaurant (Dale End Dining Room) which is complete with a bar. Access to this restaurant is via a new fully accessible entrance, stairs and a lift. Toilets are also available upstairs.
