A local landmark, and well known in this area, The Glasshouse is a modern, roadside pub specialising in private functions, e.g. weddings, funerals, parties etc..., held in the purpose built Pollitzer Suite. Spacious main lounge with central bar, many varied seating areas with sofas, armchairs, and coffee tables. Large screen TVs' showing Sky Sports, live football is very popular. Good quality pub food, meat pies and Sunday Carvery. Quiz night on Thursday, starts at 9:00pm. Live music & comedy at weekends in separate function room. Long historical connection with the glass industry, once had a bar made entirely of glass: on a site close to the former Pilkington Glass Factory, known locally as - The Glasshouse, but originally - The Kirk Sandall Hotel. Pub of the Season Autumn 2014; can get busy at weekends. Abbeydale Moonshine is permanent with three changing ales including a dark ale,
