This Pub is Temporarily Closed

Purchased by Ashley Parish Council. Currently being refurbished but re-opening on hold pending Listed Building application. A tenant has been sought by the council. This 17th century ironstone-built pub stands proud above a patch of grass at the roadside. The rear entrance has wheelchair access to the pub. Inside has been opened out although there are still two separate areas for dining and drinking. The Coach House was converted in 2010 and now redecorated to a high standard offering six individual rooms which all are en-suite with complimentary toiletries and tea and coffee.

On April 4th 2025 the Ashley Parish Council purchased the freehold of the pub. A community group, the Save the George Committee is responsible for management of the pub property. In March 2024 a grant was awarded by the Community Ownership Fund. In Aug 2025 the pub is being renovated.
