Reopened on 18 June 2024 as the Royal Oak once again, under private ownership, with keg fonts offering Brixton Reliance Pale Ale and Coldharbour Lager at £6.70 a pint or £3.50 a half. Plenty of seating indoors and on front patio, with heated, sheltered areas.

After being closed up and encased in scaffolding for two months, with no signage as to previous pub use, it reopened on 23 June 2026 as the Elephant & Barrel - the third of these in London after Fulham and Criclewood - following a £495,000 refurbishment by Star Pubs and new leaseholders, including The Apprentice star Priyesh Bathia.'
Sadly no cask beer, but (Heineken) Brixton keg varieties available at £7.50 a pint or a staggering £4.50 a half. The sign bears the legend, 'Dine & drink traditionally'! Stocky, a life-sized model elephant graces the beer garden at the front.
