Drop Kick took over the Trailhead Brewery, and initially they were using the latter's small taproom. However they later took over the premises in front of the brewery which had been used as the Gin Kitchen, a much larger space. The old taproom has been incorporated within the brewery. The main bar has a TV screen used mainly for rugby. There is a second overflow bar which can be used for functions, plus a large outside area. Food is good quality wood-fired pizzas. The brewery owner, Fin McCartney, was a brewer at Pilgrim but has now branched out on his own. As can be deduced from the name, he is a rugby fan. A range of keg beers are sold, but one Dropkick cask beer is served by handpump; this will vary.
