Originally built as a farmhouse in the 17th century. This large, Grade II Listed two bar pub located alongside the former main road (once the A12), which has since been by-passed.

Tastefully furnished throughout, it offers a range of quality beers and food. Beer garden may also feature a marque during spring and summer months for private functions.

Historic Interest

The Crown was originally built as a farmhouse in the 17th century. Pub reopened in May 2011 after six month closure & refurbishment. The 1904 Woodbridge licensing records show that the Crown's licence was issued in 1853. This is probably when it was converted from a beerhouse licence to a full one. A report in the Ipswich Journal** on 09 Jul in 1842 states that a capital brewery in Ipswich with residence & inn attached & several well accustomed public houses to be sold at auction by Robert Garrod including the Crown inn, Ufford with orchards, garden & outbuilding attached. A report in the Ipswich Journal**** in Sep 1850 states that : Died on the 22nd of September, aged 38, Mr F Stephenson, landlord of the Crown Inn, Ufford, respected by all that knew him, leaving a widow & 4 children to lament their loss. A report in the Ipswich Journal*** on 06 Oct in 1857 states "To be let, that old-established free public house, the Crown Inn, Ufford - Apply to Mr Chas. STEPHENSON, Hasketon".
