Three roomed cosy pub, re-opened Autumn 2015, after a 2 year closure. The small bar room with a warming gas fire leads to a short corridor with side nook and a larger downstairs restaurant. A further room to the right leads to an outside, covered, non-smoking courtyard with seating. Most of the handpumps dispense Locales, although the range changes regularly and incorporates either a porter, stout or mild. Real cider also available at times. Impressive high metal bar, and comfortable seating throughout.

Historic Interest

Known at various times as either the Cock & Hoop or the County Tavern.

The Cock & Hoop is a Grade II listed building (No. 1254503) and is located in Nottingham City Council's Lace Market Conservation Area.

"House, now public house. Early and mid C19. Brick with painted ashlar dressings and slate roof with a gable stack. Plinth, sill bands to each floor, deep wooden eaves. 4 storeys; 4 window range of 16-pane sashes arranged 2:2. On the third floor, 12-pane sashes. All the windows have sarcophagus-shaped lintels. Ground floor has to right an elliptical arched carriage entrance with shaped keystone and a pair of cast-iron gates. To left, 2 windows." (Historic England).
