A comfortable and friendly traditional-style town pub with a centrally-located island bar and two separate drinking areas. Often attracting a younger clientele with attractions like DJ sets, music bingo, and TV sports, the pub nevertheless offers a welcoming atmosphere to all. Uniquely in St Albans, the pub offers a Japanese food menu, prepared by the excellent Ramen Electra Noodles. Three rotating cask ales are available, typically with a mix of unusual and more mainstream choices, and there is 25% off a pint on Mondays. The pub has a pleasant garden where children are permitted up until 9pm. Awarded South Herts CAMRA's "highly improved pub" award in 2024.
