Website

Quiet and traditional country pub surrounded by woods - with a large car park and three letting cabins. Popular with ramblers, cyclists and classic car clubs. Inside there is a real log fire in the main bar and there are two adjacent rooms for dining. Outside there is a patio at the front and garden at the side. Closed Mondays except Bank Holidays.

The Charter Market Quarter has many historical links. One of the only free-standing medieval civic clock towers, the site of the First Battle of St. Albans in 1455, during the Wars of the Roses. Allegedly the Boot Inn played host to soldiers fighting in the battle. There used to be 23 pubs around the Market area!
