This Pub is Permanently Closed

This was a traditional locals' pub at the far end of the village. There were three levels to the pub with darts at the bottom and a popular eating area to the top. For years a Friary Meux pub, it was sold by them as unprofitable in the 1980s, although it was reopended shortly after this. As a spell as The Wizard, it was bought by Wiltshire brewery Gibbs Mew in the 1990s. The pub was converted into an Indian restaurant in 2007
