A famous Southampton music venue now run by publican & musician Derek, who made his, and the pub's name there some thirty years ago. The pub, reopened in March 2015, is currently confined to the ground floor and this is a long room with the bar running down most of one side. For early comers there are a few bar stools at the end and a couple of tables with benches but most tables are without seating and once the music starts these are for dancing on! The house beer 'Frog Bitter' is brewed by CrackleRock Brewery in nearby Botley. The pub does get very crowded late on with a mixture of old timers reliving their youth and the new young crowd who can be mystified with the finale sing-a-long to the Beatles classic Hey Jude.
