Five-star hotel housed in an imposing country house dating from the 17th Century, set in its own grounds at the end of a long drive alongside the River Skell, it opened as a luxury hotel in July 2019. The bar is open to non-residents, but there is no real ale. Residents may avail themselves of a shuttle service to nearby Grantley Arms which is owned and operated by the hotel and serves three cask ales.
Historic Interest
Grade II* listed building dating from the late 17th Century, it was used as a convalescent home during the Second World War. After the war it was an adult education residential college, and later a training and conference centre.
