A stone built, eatery and pub in a pretty, well-to-do, isolated village, it is more modern than traditional. Two open plan rooms with stone flags and panelling to the right-hand side and carpets and wallpaper to the other, the L-shaped bar counter serves both. Décor includes a pub mirror, a few pictures and some large scale maps of Galphay village and surrounding area. Both rooms are pleasant and are furnished with separate tables with chairs and stools. The left-hand room is laid out for dining, whilst the right hand room is more bar-like with a wood burning stove. Three handpumps serve two regular ales, namely Theakston Best and Golden Pippin; a third beer may be added in summer.
