An impressive ironstone construction built in 1700 and, as its name would suggest, this is a former traditional coaching inn. The interior consists of a small central public bar, and to the right is a large lounge and dining room with a massive TV. To the left is a separate snug bar with a pool table. At the back is a partially covered paved patio furnished with garden tables and chairs and further back across the car park is a further garden with picnic tables and a children's play area with a small slide and climbing frame.

Historic Interest

The pub has a long ironstone front dated 1700 with initials JSA. This front is of fine ashlar masonry with mullioned and transomed windows of three and five lights. A large gabled dormer has ornamental kneelers and a central finial. Side and rear walls are of brick. Despite its age and appearance, it is not a listed building.
