This Pub is Closed Long Term

Two roomed pub a short walk from the busy Mansfield Road. Touches of Irish themed decor can be found both inside and out. Varying height seating and small staged area adds a feeling of even more space. A rare survivor of the St. Ann's clearances of the 1970s.

Historic Interest

One of the few remaining corner pubs in Nottingham with a curved frontage, the Mechanics Arms first appears in 1866 as a beerhouse under T. Wragg. Two years later in 1868 it had a full licence under R. Wragg (Wright's Directories).

At one time, one of the few Davenports pubs in Nottingham (Whitworth 2010).

Asset of Community Value nomination by the Nottingham Branch of CAMRA rejected by Nottingham City Council (9th June 2016) on the grounds that the Mechanics Arms 'did not further the social wellbeing or interests of the local community'.
