Opened in 1758 and at that time one of ten pubs in the village which was on the main road from Oxford to London. Owned by Halls Brewery from the 1860s. The pub retains three separate areas, but has a modern interior with bright décor, save for one room which retains some old panelling. Has a patio garden to the front.

The Loose Cannon beers on the bar are apparently served from mini-kegs using the iKegger system.
