This is a club, which means that the bar may be only open to members.

Founded in 1937 and took over the concert room above the Merry Bells which was a temperence hotel built in 1888 in Church Street. This led to some friction and in 1954 the club moved to the closed Red Lion pub (Halls) and eventually bought the freehold. (The Merry Bells became the village hall in 1970.)
