Opposite St. James' church, this low-beamed, historic, 18th century pub is Grade II-Iisted and backs onto the River Pang. Viewed from an attractice patio-cum-terrace, this watercourse hosts a multitude of fish and was the inspiration for Kenneth Grahame's 'Wind in the Willows' novel of 1908. The pub's kitchen offers an extensive grill-and pizza-based food menu with meal deals on Wednesdays (steak) and Thursdays (fish & chips) with roasts served on Sundays.
