Edinburgh's oldest surviving public house with cellarage dating from 1516 and the rest of the building from 1740 with old sayings and toasts on the beams. A small, busy, bar with no fruit machines and a TV only used for major sporting events. House beer is likely to be from Belhaven. Daily live music. Stag and hen parties are not normally admitted (management discretion). The pub is alleged to be haunted.
