After a five year closure the pub reopened in March 2026. It has undergone a complete renovation and now has three separate drinking areas and a restaurant. Two regular cask ales are on sale along with a rotating guest ale from local breweries.

It is a sister pub to the Cross Keys at Kinnerley.

Chirbury is only a couple of miles away from Offa's Dyke, which in these parts often marks the Welsh border.

Historic Interest

Named after the Barons Herbert of Chirbury, and situated within the conservation area at the centre of the village, this is a rather imposing Georgian pub.
