Nestled near Saint Nicholas church, about 100 yards from the main road in a tranquil village founded by Anglo-Saxons, this former coaching inn’s name remains a mystery, possibly linked to its history as a gathering spot for farmers resolving disputes. The pub features a front public bar and a rear lounge with a pool table, both showcasing exposed original stone walls. It serves as a hub for local sports teams active in regional leagues. Reopened in 2020 under new ownership after a prolonged closure.
