The Bay Horse is a bustling community pub. Open plan, yet cosy, the main bar area has a tiled floor and a wood-burning stove. A smaller area to the left of the entrance contains the pool table and dartboard. There are two further rooms to the rear, giving additional seating.

The pub plays host to a pool league, and to the Cowling football club and Cowling rounders club.
