A traditional village local, rebuilt in 1910, the Sun is becoming a destination cask ale wet-led pub under the new licensees who took over in May 2025.

The pub was was bought from Brakspear in 2013 by a local businessman who reopened it as a free house. Under the new licensee it serves up to four real ales, two from local breweries and two rotating ales from far and wide. The changing ales may offered straight from the cask. A 10p per pint discount for CAMRA members is offered.

The opening hours shown are those for September 2025. Large fresh filled cobs are available throughout the day during the week (with the exception of Tuesday) and a roast at Sunday lunchtimes. The pub opens early on the second Saturday of each month for a full English breakfast.

Has a log fire in the bar on cold winter days and benches at the front and on the rear patio for warmer summer days.

The pub hosts several events, such as classic car meetings monthly on Thursdays. The Stoke Row Rally is held every June in an adjacent field, owned by the pub owner. Check their Facebook page for the latest events.

Has wheelchair access via the side entrance, but no specific disabled toilets. A defibrillator is located to the left of the front porch entrance.
