A 14th century former monk's house. The interior has been completely updated, including total refurbishment of both ladies and gents loos. The famous 'Lads of the Village' pictures used by Eldridge Pope for many years were shot here and many pictures adorn the walls. Online is film of the 'lads' arriving for a pint in 1935 and another skittling from 1936, which is believed to be the oldest extant skittles footage. See YouTube - 'Athletics - Bradford Abbas Old men and skittles'. Charity nights - horse racing quizzes etc. Backgammon, dominoes, cards and crib available. Regular league skittles each week. Well-built children's play area in the garden. New local tenants in 2025 providing a substantial and changing menu. Breakfast served Saturdays 10am - noon.
