An unspoilt corner pub which is part of the historic Railway Village built in the 1840s. It often hosts community groups and talks on local history. There are seven Hop Back or Downton real ales available, including some seasonal ones, plus one guest beer. It is a leading real cider pub and always stocks a wide range. Normally a quiet pub, but can get busy on weekend evenings. Monday is Book & Beer club night and there is a quiz on Wednesday evenings. Music once a month on a Saturday evening - please see their Facebook page for details. No hot food, but rolls and snacks available. Local CAMRA Cider pub of the year 2024 and 2025.

An article in the Daily Telegraph in January 2025 has named the best pub in each county, and the Glue Pot in Emlyn Square was crowned the best in our region. The Telegraph ranking said that The Glue Pot is “an easy-going street-corner pub, handsome in an understated way, and as good for cider as it is beer.”

Historic Interest

One of the trio of Railway Village pubs, the only one still open, the Glue Pot opened before 1850. One window still shows the Allsopp's logo. It was also a grocer's shop. Around 1900 it was known as the London Stout Tavern.
