The Wheatsheaf describes itself as a “gastropub and steakhouse with boutique rooms”. It is certainly food orientated with an extensive a la carte menu and sandwiches, etc also available in the daytime. There are however, areas of the pub suitable for those just wanting a drink. Cask ale from local brewer Merlin is always available and there is a good range of keg beers including offerings from local breweries Beartown and Bach 95. The pub is furnished to a high quality in all areas and there are spaces available for functions and meetings.
