Early 18th-century corner hostelry centrally located close to the historic Chalybeate spring that established this Royal spa town. Inside, a warm ambiance is created by the wooden floor and ceiling and assorted seating. In summer the outdoor pedestrianised seating is very popular and provides the perfect position to watch the world go by in the setting of the Georgian colonnaded architecture. Patrons can also enjoy live Summer music performed on the Pantiles from the outside tables. Acquired by Fuller's of Chiswick, London in 2012.

A slightly curved and uneven brick pavement leads into the main step free corner door entrance. Alternatively there are two steps up to the bar from the side entrance door. Level and step free internally. There are several steps with a handrail leading up to the toilets located on the first floor. There is no fully accessible toilet.
