Friendly, welcoming country locals' pub, formerly owned by Greene King now independent. Good range of up to five real ales on handpump. Located near the Suffolk/Essex border with beer garden and good sized car park. Two bars, one with low-key TV for sports events.

The pub has bar billiards and pool tables with teams in local leagues.

Historic Interest

Possible earlier landlords include John Siggers & James C Bugg, see village historical section. A report in the Ipswich Journal** in Oct 1880 states that : Married at Little Cornard on the 13th George only son of Mr D Godden, Shoulder of Mutton Assington, to Susannah, youngest daughter of late James Cooper Bugg, of the Brook Inn, Great Cornard.
