Please note this Pub is closed 01/01/2017 and became Permanently Closed 04/01/2019 (Shop). The "Templars Retreat" in Templecombe closed suddenly at the beginning of the month [January 2017]. As you know, the freehold of this pub had been up for sale for a long time, and the landlord told me a while ago that it was ‘under offer’. Presumably the sale has gone through, but nobody I know has any idea what its future is. It has been a ‘failing pub’ for a number of years, but with the right sort of refurb to radically change the ambience and in the right hands has it has potential for success. I e-mailed Fleurets, the selling agents, a few days ago to ask if they could let me know what the new owners’ intentions were, but no reply as yet - I’m not holding my breath!.
