This Pub is Permanently Closed

Planning granted to convert to flats in April 2019.

Sadly closed again at the end of February 2018.

Reopened in December 2017 by the landlord of the Gryphon after almost two years closed this pub is set in a good location behind the City Hall. The earthy coloured exterior leads you into a single bar with drinking areas on three sides. There is a cosy, relaxed atmosphere with the beer selection varied to cater for most tastes, including at least four cask ales on rotation.

Apparently also known as Chunkys according to a 1970's pub guide.
