Large pub on the green at lower Wolvercote, a short walk from the remains of Godstow nunnery. There is an attractive, mature garden with a children’s play area. Sadly the pygmy goats have moved on. The indoor dining area is bolstered by a huge conservatory. Run for 10 years as a gastropub by Jacob's & Field but could not agree on lease renewal. Opened June 2023 and closed again. Re-opened November 2024 under new management. Closed again 2 September 2025 although lights still on. Reopened September 11 under even newer management. Sometimes has cask ale (from Marston's) but not reliably.

Listed Grade II. Probably C18 in origin and much altered. Listed for its position.
