Named after 18thC radical John Wilkes, this small Grade II-listed red-brick pub dates from 1763 and has been a pub since 1803. There is a cosy lounge to the left of the central bar and to the right a larger main bar with inglenook fireplace, flagstones and low beams. At the rear is a permanent marquee with seating plus a comfortable, heated smokers' shelter and a large garden with play equipment. Four well-chosen changing beers come from Punch's Finest Cask Range or SIBA Local Direct Delivery. 1¼m west of Barnham station; buses from Barnham, Bognor, Chichester and Littlehampton stop nearby.
