The village was home to the American 381st Heavy Bomb Group during WWII. The bar area has been modernised, and the restaurant has a collection of clocks. As well as a choice of excellent real ale and food, the pub offers an interesting selection of good-quality wines to suit a variety of tastes, and 4-star accommodation.
