This attractive thatched 18th century building set prominently on the roundabout by the old marketplace is named after Sir Francis Drake's ship. Stone-flagged floors, historic photographs and cosy drinking areas add to the charm of this Grade II listed building. An attractive courtyard can be used in suitable weather. The second cask beer is not always available. Some food is now available, including a roast chicken Sunday lunch. Board games are provided and sport is shown on the television. It has a disabled toilet with grab bars and Radar lock but the front entrance is rather narrow and the rear entrance has a step.
