An unusual twin gable-ended building dating from the 18th century, this pub and bistro lies next to an old watermill by the River Tyne at the southern edge of the town.

The long narrow bar, with its open fire in winter, is popular with locals. Real ales are chosen from around the UK.

The lounge is Mazzoli, a bistro serving Italian food.

The quiet rear garden is an attraction in summer.

NOTE: May close earlier on quiet winter evenings.
