Formerly the Cork the pub changed name after a change in management in October 2013 along with a makeover, giving it a more vibrant feel. Previously a bank, this venue has huge windows, high ceilings and a mezzanine area over the bar with a 1970's/Pop Art influenced interior. There are discos twice a week on Friday and Saturday nights. Multiple seating areas and TV screens are dotted around the pub.
This Pub serves 3 changing beers (There are three regularly, changing beers on handpump. These were Brain's Reverend James and Adnam's Ghostship, with one handpump unsued, on visiting. Two Willows also has a range of craft beer on keg from the likes of Beauvoir Town, Camden, etc.) and 0 regular beers.

The Charter Market Quarter has many historical links. One of the only free-standing medieval civic clock towers, the site of the First Battle of St. Albans in 1455, during the Wars of the Roses. Allegedly the Boot Inn played host to soldiers fighting in the battle. There used to be 23 pubs around the Market area!
The northern end of the Market is dominated by St. Peter’s church, one of the three churches originally built by the Saxon’s on the main pilgrim routes into St. Albans. Soak up the history and architecture of the area, as well as music history!
