Micropub featuring four cask ales, three real ciders/perries, and four keg taps, as well as bottled fine cider and perry, and a range of refrigerated cans and bottles of various styles. The pub hosts tap takeovers, fortnightly quizzes and other events. There is a small outside seating area. Closed Mondays and Tuesdays; hours may vary on Watford FC match days.

The Charter Market Quarter

The Charter Market Quarter has many historical links. One of the only free-standing medieval civic clock towers, the site of the First Battle of St. Albans in 1455, during the Wars of the Roses. Allegedly the Boot Inn played host to soldiers fighting in the battle. There used to be 23 pubs around the Market area!
