Formerly the Midland Hotel, a large Victoria pub opposite the Railway station. Purchased by pop-up pizza company, Marvellous Medicine, in March 2024 and subjected to a complete transformation, launching as the pizza brand's first ever venue, The Steam and Whistle.

Marvellous Medicine have brought the tired old commuters' pub back to its former glory, serving lashings of its famous pizza, along with a range of craft beers and cocktails, and occasional live music, comedy and events.

Beers are mainly keg ( Camden, Brixton, Tiny Rebel) with some cans. One cask line installed in October 2024 . Take care if ordering halves as pricing for cask is £6 a pint / £3.50 a half.
