This Pub is Closed Long Term

Deceptively spacious twin roomed local tucked down a side street off the main Trafalgar Road in Greenwich. The building dates from the 19th century, though the interior is of later date.

Having closed in 2021, with local community support and a successful crowd funding the pub reopened in April 2023, aiming to be a community facility in numerous ways. Does not do regular cask ale. Various community activities and events take place.

Closed 8th November 2024 quoting financial viability problems.

The Friends of the Star of Greenwich Limited (a Community Benefit Society) leased the pub from owner Greenwich Hospital, and ran the pub since 2023. See website for more details.

In Nov 2024 the pub closed when Greenwich Hospital called in "longstanding" rent arrears amounting to more than £50,000 (See BBC article)
