This twice Somerset CAMRA Pub of the Year has been in the Guide for twenty five consecutive years and was runner up in 2019 and usually has four cask ales for variety. It is renowned for friendly staff and its congenial atmosphere. The pub hosts dart, quiz and boules teams and holds music nights in the summer. It also does theme nights and is home to the infamous Sunday night "bad boys club". Mick's beer tours have run over 100 trips from the pub. The Star has a high reputation for its locally sourced food and has daily fish and butchers specials.

Bus service 28 stops at Watchet Railway station daily with late evening services Mon to Sat (not public holidays) with WSR service operating days. 10 mins walk to puc past harbour.
