Delightfully welcoming, locally owned village pub serving excellent food. It has two comfortable well-appointed rooms - one a bar and the other a lounge/restaurant. Two well-kept cask ales showcase the best of North-East breweries. This hidden-away pub is in an ideal location for walkers exploring the nearby Hawthorn Dene.

Reopened after shortish closure in April 2024, branded as a Steakhouse but bar remains open, to be visited
