The Stag, a busy pub, located on the junction known as Orrell Post, within minutes of M6 junction 26. A good place if you're on your way in and out of the town on a match day. An open plan layout, with a large raised 'games' area includes a 3D Sky Sports TV; 3 others around the place, a pool table, darts, and plenty of seating at one end. At the other end are several very comfortable discrete areas, catering especially for lunchtime pub grub, with a wide traditional menu.

There are new fully fitted disabled facilities available (WC). It has a large car park and is on several main bus routes through Wigan.

Evening activities include League poker on Tuesdays
