This is a proper drinking pub and friendly local on the village green in the old part of Doggy (the village's local nickname). It has sold cask ale for more than 40 years. The pub is home to darts, chess and dominoes clubs plus hosts a well-attended Thursday night quiz. There are good views towards the Wear valley and Durham city.
